We live in a world of mobile applications. Have you ever wondered how to create one? In this 3-hour workshop, participants will have a hands-on experience in creating a simple Android mobile app. This workshop is open to all alumni, teachers and students of HIHS and HIPS.

 

Topics covered in this workshop include:

• Basic Java programming crash course

  • Basic input and output

  • Basic variables and datatypes

  • Basic operators and precedence

  • Flow control (if-else)

  • Loops (for-loop, while-loop)

  • Basic arrays

• Basic Android programming

  • Android Studio Overview

  • Android Emulator and Controls)Input

  • Basic UI (Layouts, and MenuIntent

  • Activities,

• Creating a simple personal organizer app

 

No prior programming knowledge required. A laptop is required for this workshop. A downloadable handout will be given closer to the actual date.
